During art we used a cool website called mywebface.com to distort our profile pictures with some horrifying results, just in time for Halloween!
During tech week we learnt how to write a basic code for our own animations using scratch software. We enjoyed creating movement and adding sound and backgrounds to our characters! We also enjoyed using a simple programming app called ‘lightbot’ and played a variety of educational games on our tablets.

Today fourth class begin kidblog! Kidblog allows the children the opportunity to blog from home as well as in school. Children are given tasks to complete and have their own personal page to blog from. This week the children will be required to post on ‘Native Americans.’ See the ‘kidblog’ page above for details on accessing your page!
This week we will be researching a famous person of our choice and writing up their biographies. Then we will learn to present our biographies using ‘Prezi’ sofware! To access Prezi, click on the following link:
Last week, we visited the zoo as part of the dissolving boundaries initiative. We enjoyed meeting the children from Elmgrove primary school. We learned lots of interesting facts about the various different animals around the zoo from the very knowledgeable zookeepers! We also had fun in the playground! A detailed account of our visit is coming soon in the class news page!
This year fourth class are participating in the ‘Dissolving Boundaries’ initiative. We are partnered with Elmgrove Primary School from Belfast. We will collaborate on a number of school projects over the year and we will communicate through blogging, video conferencing, wikis and moodle. It is hoped that we will learn together, improve our ICT skills as well as developing friendships.
For information on how to login, post messages on moodle and to create your profile, go to the Dissolving Boundaries page above.
