Tech Day- coding with scratch!

Standard

During tech week we learnt how to write a basic code for our own animations using scratch software. We enjoyed creating movement and adding sound and backgrounds to our characters! We also enjoyed using a simple programming app called ‘lightbot’ and played a variety of educational games on our tablets.

Last week, we visited the zoo as part of the dissolving boundaries initiative. We enjoyed meeting the children from Elmgrove primary school.  We learned lots of interesting facts about the various different animals around the zoo from the very knowledgeable zookeepers! We also had fun in the playground! A detailed account of our visit is coming soon in the class news page!

We will collaborate on a number of school projects over the year and we will communicate through blogging, video conferencing, wikis and moodle. It is hoped that we will learn together, improve our ICT skills as well as developing friendships.
